📄 Driving Requirements for International Guests
To drive a rental car in Japan, you must present the following documents upon pickup:
- Passport
- Valid Driving Permit:
- International Driving Permit (IDP) issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention, along with your original national driver's license. (IDPs under the 1968 Vienna Convention are NOT accepted in Japan).
- OR For drivers holding licenses from Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, or Slovenia: Your original national driver's license + an Official Japanese Translation (issued by JAF, ZIPANGU, or your country's embassy in Japan).
※ Please note that if you do not bring the valid documents specified above, we cannot hand over the vehicle under Japanese law, and cancellation fees may apply.

- Cars are provided with a full tank and must be returned full.
- If not returned full, refueling charges will apply based on actual cost or mileage.
